Picnic Shelter Reservations

Online reservations for Picnic Shelters are subject to the rules and cancellation policies below.
*If you need to make a reservation that does not meet the conditions below, have difficulties with the online reservation process, or want to inquire about a facility that is not available for online reservation, please contact our office at 703-228-4747 for assistance.

  • To allow for staff cleaning and trash removal, only one reservation at a shelter is allowed each day.
  • Shelter reservations may be made beginning February 1 at 8am.
  • Shelters may be reserved from the 1st Saturday in April through November 15.
  • Online reservations must be made at least 3 days in advance.
  • Online reservations must be at least 8 days apart (e.g., you cannot reserve a shelter online for two consecutive Saturdays). This applies whether attempting to reserve the same shelter or two different shelters. In addition, only 2 online shelter reservations are allowed in a 90 day period.
  • Minimum reservation length is 4 hours. Please choose at least 4 consecutive 60-minute time blocks when making your reservation. Your reservation time must include any time needed by you to set up and clean up the shelter.
  • Fees listed are a flat rate, regardless of the length of your reservation.
  • CANCELLATION POLICY: There are no rain dates or refunds issued for any reason other than cancellation by DPR. We will work with renters to reschedule to another date, if needed.
