Tchaikovsky’s Pathétique Symphony is a powerful masterpiece, a poignant expression of forbidden love cloaked in mystery. This passionate program also includes Prokofiev’s evocative Summer Night Suite and Alexander Raskatov’s Time’s River, co-commissioned by the NSO. Renowned Moscow-born oboist Alexei Ogrintchouk will take center stage for Raskatov’s new concerto, which has been described as “a hymn to nature in resonance with our time." Return time subject to change due to the performance.
